Nocturne is een nieuw elektronisch festival in Leiden. Het festival laat hokjesdenken ver achter zich en biedt een eclectisch programma, van dromerige indie tot pulserende techno.

Het programma bestaat uit vooruitstrevende live acts van (inter)nationaal gevestigde artiesten en opkomend talent. In het centrum van Leiden biedt de Nobel met meerdere zalen de perfecte setting voor deze intieme nacht.

NOCTURNE: Where electronic beats collide with live acts for a genre-defying experience.

Nocturne is a new electronic festival in Leiden. The festival transcends categorization and presents you with an eclectic program, ranging from dreamy indie to pulsating techno. 

Progressive live acts take center stage in the lineup, forming a symphony of (inter)national established artists and emerging talent. Located in the heart of Leiden, Nobel with its multiple halls provides the perfect setting for this intimate night.

Weval

Weval (Harm Coolen and Merijn Scholte Albers) are an Amsterdam-based duo who have established a solid reputation across the globe for crafting highly textured and sophisticated electronic music.

Since they first released their Half Age EP in 2014 on Michael Mayer’s legendary Cologne-based Kompakt label, Weval have strived to test and improve their songwriting abilities by incorporating their own vocals and live instrumentation into their recordings, adding an extra dimension to their already impressive sound and in 2019 they released their second album, The Weight, to critical acclaim.

Weval have had a stellar host of remixes on their work by the likes of Solomun, Michael Mayer, Margot, Red Axes, Kasper Bjørke and have remixed Luwten, The Acid and Local Natives.

Colin Benders

Sole but far-from-lonely emperor of a monster 243-module rack, genre-unbound sound explorer, modular mad scientist to the bone, call him whatever you like it’s a fact: Dutch wave-tumbler Colin Benders defies the conventions of so easily tag-slapped electronics as much as his music confronts gravity itself.

Untamed and unshackled from today’s main line of tepid production behaviourism, striving in an artistic lane truly his own, Benders has completely veered off the grand street's accepted modus operandi to operate his gear and imagination in utterly innovative fashion.

Coloray

Coloray is the boundary pushing creative moniker from electronic artist, Raynor De Groot. The world first got to know Raynor as one half of Tunnelvisions. A dance-project that toured around Europe since 2017 and were known for their emphatic productions on the likes Solomun’s DIYnamic imprint as well as Moscoman’s Disco Halal label.

In 2019 Raynor went solo under the name Coloray. He had immediate success with a collaborative single alongside Eagles & Butterflies. 'Can't Stop' became a dance floor anthem, getting played by underground darlings like Four Tet and Hunee, to mainstream powerhouses like Dixon, Âme, Solomun, Adriatique and many more.

Bastienne

Organizing raves in her hometown Amersfoort since 2018 and having a broad interest in music from a young age, naturally grew to the point where Bastienne found herself in the DJ booth. The creative scene in Amersfoort provided ample opportunities to hone her skills and grow as a DJ and her musical appearances quickly caught the ear of enthusiasts, dancers and promotors.

She enjoys the mindful and ecstatic experience that music induces, and hopes to deliver this same experience to her audience. The base of her style is hard but groovy techno and house, but her selection is not limited to just that. She frequently mixes breakbeat, electro, jungle, hardcore, trance or even old R&B tracks into her sets to present an exciting performance.

Bastienne has played at Wildeburg, Lowlands, By The Creek and Into The Woods during her first festival season in 2022 and has captivated her audience at clubs like
Perron, BRET, Radion, Thuishaven and during the ecstatic IsBurning club nights.

Luka

Born in Cape Town, raised and based in the Netherlands; singer-songwriter Lisa Lukaszczyk forms the creative foundation for her band Luka. With her colourful voice and honest songs, she paints images that seem very familiar, yet are intriguing and exciting.Inspired by artists such as Lianne La Havas, Feist and Bon Iver, Luka exhibits a sound with touches of dreamy electro-pop, folk and soul.

With only two people on stage, Luka’s live shows have proven a ‘not-to-miss’ on festivals acrossEurope. Together with her drummer Joost Wesseling, both playing multiple instruments, Luka putson a surprisingly dynamic show that varies between ethereal soundscapes to grounded uplifting eats.

After the successfully self-released debut EP ‘Welcome, Generation  Everything’ early 2018 and her Sofar Sounds session for single River going viral (300k+ views), they ended up playing over 80 shows throughout the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary and Italy that same year. Highlights include Sziget Festival (Budapest, Hungary), Motel Mozaïque (Rotterdam, the Netherlands) and the official aftershow for Elbow in Amsterdam.

ramsesboomboom

ramsesboomboom is a fusion of the universes of Erik Buschmann and Wannes Salomé, both members of the Amsterdam-based band Klangstof. The music naturally emerged from free-form writing sessions where sounds and rhythms flowed from workstation to workstation, creating rich electronic and organic textures. What actually molded this raw and pure collection of sounds into songs no-one will ever know.

The Hill Station

The Hill Station is een indie/elektronisch duo uit Leiden en bestaat uit Ronnie Verton en Rutger Brouwer, twee ervaren muzikanten in de Nederlandse indiescene. Een gedeelde passie voor synthesizers bracht hen in 2019 samen in een ontdekkingstocht naar nieuwe klankwerelden.  

Met elektronica als basis, aangevuld met akoestische instrumenten en vocalen, creëert The Hill Station een eigen geluid dat zich beweegt tussen synthwave, melodische techno en dream pop. Muziek met warme nostalgische sferen en melancholisch experiment, maar ook altijd een uitnodigend pop element.

The Kiwi Club

Kiwi Club is a melodic techno duo hailing from Leiden, combining live guitar with laid-back techno beats and loops. Since 2019, Giel Borsboom (beats) and Chris Tieken (guitar) have been delivering energetic live sets that captivate the audience, allowing them to get lost in the music.

In 2022, the duo was selected to participate in the Popronde and embarked on a tour across the Netherlands. This exposure led to bookings at electronic events and festivals nationwide. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Joachim Pastor, NTO, and Monolink, Kiwi Club has carved a distinctive niche in the electronic music scene, enchanting audiences with their unique blend of live instrumentation and techno vibes.
